Nitshill, Renfrewshire
Nitshill is a suburban village in Renfrewshire. Nitshill was originally a coal-mining village and the scene of one of Britain's worst mining disasters on 15th March 1851. The village grew to accommodate people relocated from Glasgow in the 1950s and 1960s, and now forms a part of the south-west of the Glasgow conurbation. It is within the council area of City of Glasgow.
