Newtownards Priory, Down

Newtownards Priory is a ruined Dominican Friary in the town of Newtownards, County Down. It was founded in the mid 13th century and supressed in 1541. After the Plantation it was granted to Hugh Montgomery, who refurbished the church which continued in use until about 1817. The monument is in the care of the Department for Communities. The monument is within the council area of Ards and North Down.
