Newton Mearns, Renfrewshire
Newton Mearns is a suburban town in Renfrewshire. Once a small town, from the early 20th century it gradually became a growing commuter suburb of Glasgow, with huge expansion from the 1950s. Historical buildings in the area include the 15th century Mearns Castle, Greenbank House and the 1813 Mearns Kirk. The town is within the council area of East Renfrewshire.
