Newton Bushel, Devon
Newton Bushel is an urban area lying north of the River Lemon in Newton Abbot, Devon. From the mid 13th century, Newton Bushel developed as a rival market town to Newton Abbot which lay south of the river. The town later developed mills and tanneries. It formally became part of newton Abbot urban district in 1901 and is now usually regard as a district within the modern town of Newton Abbot. It is centred around present-day Highweek Street. The area is within the council area of Teignbridge (Devon).
