Newbuildings, Londonderry

Newbuildings (aka New Buildings) is a large village, lying on the eastern bank of the River Foyle in County Londonderry. It is within the townlands of Primity, Ballyore and Dunhugh, in the civil parish of Clondermot. The village was founded in the early 17th century on land allocated to the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths of London. It remained a small settlement until large amounts of social housing was built in the 1960s. The village is within the council area of Derry City and Strabane.
