New Oscott, Warwickshire

New Oscott is an urban area to the north of Erdington, Warwickshire. It is the location of St Mary's College, one of the three seminaries of the Catholic Church in England and Wales. The college moved to the site in 1838, the area becoming known as New Oscott after the college's original site at Oscott (now known as Old Oscott). A small settlement developed around the college. The area saw large-scale development in the 20th century. The modern urban area spreads across the county border into Staffordshire. The area is within the council area of Birmingham.
