New Cross Gate, Surrey
New Cross Gate is an urban area, forming the western part of the New Cross metropolitan district, in Surrey. The name derives from New Cross Gate railway station, which adopted this name in 1923 (having previously been one of two station called "New Cross"). The area overlaps with that of the former hamlet of Hatcham, the latter name being less commonly used than in the past. It is within the council area of Lewisham.
