Neston, Cheshire
Neston is a market town in Cheshire, on the Wirral peninsula. It is listed in Domesday as Nestone. It was formerly known as Great Neston, to be distinct from neighbouring Little Neston. It was a major port before the River Dee silted up and also formerly a mining village. The town is within the council area of Cheshire West and Chester.
