Nelson, Lancashire
Nelson is a town in Lancashire. The coming of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in 1796 spurred Nelson's development as an industrial town, with an economy based mainly upon cotton weaving. The economy is now based around retail, services and light industry. The town is within the council area of Pendle (Lancashire).
