Narford Hall, Norfolk

Narford Hall is a large country house near Narborough, Norfolk. The original block was built in around 1702 for Andrew Fountaine of Salle. It is mainly of two storeys with a seven-bay façade. The large north-east section which includes a stone tower porch with cupola was added by his descendent Andrew Fountaine in the 1830s. The park lies mainly to the west and south of the Hall. To the north is the substantial Narford Lake, created in the mid 19th century. The disused mediæval flint church of St Mary lies near to the hall, the last survivor of the mediæval village of Narford which was almost entirely depopulated by the start of he 19th century. The hall is within the council area of Breckland (Norfolk).
