Nantyglo is a small town in Monmouthshire, at the head of the valley of the river Ebbw Fach. During the middle of the 19th century, Nantyglo was one of the most important iron producing centres in the world. Nantyglo Round Towers were constructed in the early 19th century as places of retreat by the ironmaster Joseph Bailey, after a riot was caused by his brother's threat to cut wages. The town is within the council area of Blaenau Gwent.
