Mount Pleasant, Down

Mount Pleasant is a Georgian country house, situated near Gilford, County Down. It is within the townland of Drumaran, in the civil parish of Tullylish. It is likely that Mount Pleasant was built for George Darley, owner of the nearby bleach works around 1780. The house is castellated, composed on a symmetrical plan and much original fabric survives, including evidence of remodelling in the 19th century. The surviving courtyard of outbuildings and walled garden contributes to its setting. The house is within the council area of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon.
