Moseley, Worcestershire
Moseley is a former village that is now a suburb of Birmingham, lying in Worcestershire three miles south of the city centre. It is listed in Domesday as 'Museleie'. Until the mid 19th century, Moseley remained a small village clustered around St Mary's Church (1405). Mosley Hall was built c.1795 of ashlar with a slate roof in three storeys with a five-bay frontage. Between 1850 and 1910, Moseley developed into a fashionable suburb, stimulated by the new railway line and trams linking it with Birmingham. St Anne's Church dates from 1874. Moseley became part of the municipal area of Birmingham in 1911 since when it has seen further significant housing development. Moseley is within the council area of Birmingham.
