Morriston, Glamorgan
Morriston is a town in Glamorgan. It lies in the Lower Swansea Valley, adjoining the River Tawe. It is centred on Woodfield Street, which features two of Morriston's most notable structures, the Church of St John and Tabernacle Chapel. The town is named from Sir John Morris of Clasmont, who built a large copper works here in 1876. It is now part of the continuous urban area around Swansea, of which is sometimes considered a suburb. Morriston is within the council area of Swansea.
