Milnrow, Lancashire
Milnrow is a town in Lancashire. It stands beside the River Beal at the foothills of the South Pennines. The handloom weaving of woollen cloth and flannels became the Milnrow's staple industry from the Late Middle Ages. The Industrial Revolution converted Milnrow into a mill town that mass-produced textile goods in cotton mills, such as Ellenroad Ring Mill (now a museum). Milnrow War Memorial is located in Memorial Park at Newhey. The town is within the council area of Rochdale.
