Milecross, Antrim
Milecross is a village, lying to the west of Newtownards, of which it is sometimes considered a suburb, in County Down. It is within the townland of Milecross, in the civil parish of Newtownards. Milecross Lodge dates from the late 18th century. Kiltonga Hall was built in 1796 as a Quaker Meeting House by the Bradshaw family. Across the road is Killysuggan Catholic graveyard, the land donated to the Catholic Church by the Bradshaw family. Kiltonga Bleach and Dye Works opened on land to the south of Quaker's meeting house in the late 19th century, the site now known as Kiltonga Industrial Estate. Milecross has seen housing development along the Belfast Road and Milecross road since the mid 20th century, but the townland remains largely rural.
