Mile End is a suburban village in Essex. The village saw substantial suburban development in the 20th century and is now often considered a northern suburb of Colchester. The village was formerly the site of Sveralls Hospital (1913-1997) and is now the location of Colchester Community Stadium, the home of Colchester United FC. It is within the council area of Colchester (Essex).
