Midsomer Norton, Somerset
Midsomer Norton is a town near the Mendip Hills in Somerset. It is a small town whose shape and nature are formed around the River Somer which runs the length of the town centre. From the mid 18th century, coal mining in the Somerset coalfield gave the town its impetus as an industrial centre. The Church of St John the Baptist has a tower dating from the 15th century. The town is within the council area of Bath and North East Somerset.
