MenuMere, Wiltshire
Mere is a market town in Wiltshire, at the south-western tip of Salisbury Plain. There is an old market square, a chiming town clock and the 15th-century parish church of St Michael the Archangel. Castle Hill, overlooking the town, is the remains of a mediæval fortification built by Richard, the Earl of Cornwall, in 1253. The town is within the council area of Wiltshire.
