Meare Lake Villages, Somerset
Meare Lake Villages are two Iron Age settlements on the Somerset Levels near Meare, Somerset. The two villages, occupied at different periods, were built on a morass on an artificial foundation of timber filled with brushwood, bracken, rubble and clay. The Meare villages were discovered in 1895. The site is within the council area of Somerset.
