Maryhill, Lanarkshire
Maryhill is a town which has become an area the north of Glasgow, Lanarkshire. Named from its one-time owner Mary Hill, the town grew around the Forth Clyde Canal in the 19th century. It formed its own burgh from 1856 to 1891. Maryhill is within the council area of City of Glasgow.
