Marlborough, Wiltshire

Marlborough is a market town town in Wiltshire. The Great Fire of Marlborough (1653) destroyed almost the entire town. The rebuilt the High Street is reputed to have one of the widest high-streets in Britain. The Merchant's House, from this period, retains its original room pattern and wall paintings. The town is within the council area of Wiltshire.
