Market Cross, Suffolk
Market Cross (aka Bury St Edmunds Town Hall) is an 18th-century municipal building on Cornhill, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. It was designed by Robert Adam in the neoclassical style, built in ashlar stone and completed in 1780. The site was originally occupied by a simple market cross. The building was used as a theatre until 1819 and served as the town hall from 1840-1927. Between 1972-2015 it became an art gallery. It became a community space in 2021. It is within the council area of West Suffolk (Suffolk).
