Manchester Cathedral, Lancashire

Manchester Cathedral (formally the Cathedral and Collegiate Church of St Mary, St Denys and St George) is a Church of England cathedral on Victoria Street in Manchester, Lancashire. It is the seat of the Bishop of Manchester. It was constructed from around 1422-1520, perhaps incorporating parts of an earlier church. It became a cathedral in 1847. It was extensively refaced, restored and extended in the Victorian period, and again following bomb damage during World War II. The cathedral is within the council area of Manchester.
