Malvern, Great, Worcestershire

Great Malvern is a town in Worcestershire, standing at the foot of the Malvern Hills. An 11th-century priory was the origin of today's town. Great Malvern Priory survives as a parish church. It has the largest display of 15th-century stained glass in England. From the 17th century, the health-giving properties of Malvern water and the natural beauty of the surroundings led to the development of Malvern as a spa town. The town has a wealth of historic buildings. St Ann's Well is housed in a building dating from 1813. The town is the centre of the wider area of Malvern. It is within the council area of Malvern Hills (Worcestershire).
