Mallows Cotton, Northamptonshire
Mallows Cotton is a deserted mediæval village in Northamptonshire. A distinctive hollow-way 6ft deep and 15ft wide runs along the east side of the monument. A series of raised rectangular enclosures identifying house platforms and small garden plots are visible on the western side of the hollow-way. Exposed stonework marks the position of some of the houses. The village originated in the 12th century but by 1798, when an enclosure map of the area was produced, it was completely abandoned. It is within the council area of North Northamptonshire.
