Malleny House, Midlothian

Malleny House is a 17th-century house and garden at Balerno, Midlothian. Malleny House in its current form was principally built between 1635 and the late 17th century. The house incorporates parts of an early house dated to 1589. A domed Georgian extension dates from around 1820. The gardens feature four 100-year-old yew trees known as the Four Apostles. There are over 150 varieties of roses, including the National Collection of 19th century Shrub Roses. The property is in the care of the National Trust for Scotland. The house is within the council area of City of Edinburgh.
