Mahee Castle, Down

Mahee Castle is a ruined 16th-century tower house on Mahee Island in Strangford Lough, County Down. It is reputed to have been built in 1570 by by an English soldier, Captain Browne. Part of the bawn wall survives to the south-west of the tower. The monument is in the care of the Department for Communities. The monument is within the council area of Ards and North Down.
