Magheralave, Antrim

Magheralave is a suburban area in Lisburn, County Antrim. It is within the townlands of Magheralave (Upper Belfast) and Magheralave (Upper Massereene), in the civil parish of Derryaghy. Magheralave House was built by Thomas Stannus about 1893 to replace an earlier mansion. The area remained largely rural until the mid 20th century, since when it has seen large-scale suburban development. The Magheralave area is within the council area of Antrim and Newtownabbey.
