Maesteg, Glamorgan
Maesteg is a town in Glamorgan, at the northernmost end of the Llynfi Valley. The growth of the town started with the opening of ironworks in the 1820s and 1830s. With the decline of traditional industries, the town is primarily a residential / dormitory for the Port Talbot, Bridgend and Cardiff journey-to-work areas. The town is within the council area of Bridgend.
