Lower Soundwell is a suburban village in Gloucestershire. Lower Soundwell and its neighbour Upper Soundwell lie in a former coal mining area. Lower Soundwell remained a hamlet until the mid 20th century, since when it has seen large-scale suburban development. It is now contiguous with Upper Soundwell. The village is within the council area of South Gloucestershire.
