Lower Lough Erne, Fermanagh
Lower Lough Erne is a large, freshwater lough in County Fermanagh. It is formed from a widened section of the River Erne, which flows north-west from Upper Lough Erne into Lower Lough Erne and thence into the Atlantic. The lough has many islands. The town of Enniskillen lies on the short stretch of river between the two loughs. The lough is popular for angling, boating and other watersports. The lough is within the council area of Fermanagh and Omagh.
