Loughries, Down

Loughries is a hamlet in County Down. It is within the townlands of Loughriscouse and Ballywatticock, in the civil parish of Newtownards. Loughriscouse National School (now Loughries Integrated Primary School) was established in 1842. It was not until the second half of the 20th century that a settlement developed to the south of the school, mostly in the townland of Ballywatticock. The hamlet is within the council area of Ards and North Down.
