Long Stones, Wiltshire

The Long Stones (or the Longstones) are two standing stones, known as 'Adam' and 'Eve', close to Beckhampton, Wiltshire. Adam is the larger of the two stones, weighing an estimated 62 tons, and along with three others formed a four-sided preshistoric 'cove'. 'Eve' is considered to have formed part the Bechhampton Avenue of standing stones, which excavations have shown connected the cove to Avebury. The monument is within the council area of Wiltshire.
