Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll, Anglesey

Llanfairpwllgwyngyll (or Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll) is a large village on Anglesey, on the Menai Strait next to the Britannia Bridge. The famous long version of the name (Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch) was supposedly contrived in 1869 as a publicity stunt to give the railway station the longest name of any station in Britain. The railway station features the plate with the long version of the name. The village is within the council area of Isle of Anglesey.
