Little Meg, Cumberland

Little Meg (aka Maughanby circle) are the remains of a small circle of large kerb stones in Cumberland. It is situated on flat land just 700 tards north-east of Long Meg And Her Daughters. It is now a confusion of stones, with the stones not in their original positions. It now comprises 11 contiguous stones, most of them fallen, surrounding the surviving traces of an earthen mound. The ring measures 20 feet by 15 feet, with the tallest stone being some 4 feet tall. Two of the stones (only one remaining) were decorated in antiquity with a series of concentric circles and a spiral. It is within the council area of Westmorland and Furness.
