Lisson Grove, Middlesex

Lisson Grove is an urban area in Marylebone, Middlesex. Once part of the mediæval manor of Lilestone, Lisson Green (as it was then known) remained a rural area until the late 18th century. It was developed from the early 19th century, especially after the construction of the Regent's Canal in 1810. The name Lisson Green to describe the area has gradually been replaced by Lissom Grove, the name of a street in the east of the area. It is within the council area of Westminster.
