Lisdrumgullion is a northern suburb of Newry, lying west of the Clanrye River in County Armagh. It is within the townland of Lisdrumgullion, in the civil parish of Newry. The southern part of the townland, including Sugar Island, was developed quickly after the opening of the Newry Canal in the 1740s, becoming, along with Ballybot, the second area of Newry west of the Clanrye River. St Colman's College, on Violet Hill above the river, was founded in 1823. The Chapel of Mary, the Immaculate Mother of God, was constructed in the 1930s.
