Lincoln Cathedral, Lincolnshire
Lincoln Cathedral (formally the Cathedral Church of St Mary, aka Lincoln Minster) is a Church of England cathedral in Lincoln, Lincolnshire. It is the seat of the Bishop of Lincoln. It was established around 1072-1092 by Bishop Remigius. It was restored and extended following a fire between 1123-1148. It has been altered and added to throughout the succeeding centuries in different phases of the Gothic style. It holds one of the four remaining copies of the original Magna Carta. The cathedral is within the council area of Lincoln (Lincolnshire).
