Lexden, Essex
Lexden is a suburban village in Essex. The area saw substantial suburban development in the 20th century, though the core of the old village remains distinct along the Lexden Road. There are several properties of of mediæval origin. Lexden Park and Lexden Manor date from the 18th century. The village is now sometimes considered an eastern suburb of Colchester. The village is within the council area of Colchester (Essex).
