Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire
Letchworth Garden City (often known just as Letchworth) is a former village that became a 20th-century garden city, located in the north of Hertfordshire. The town was laid out by Raymond Unwin and Barry Parker from 1903 as a demonstration of the principles established by Ebenezer Howard. This, the first garden city, had great influence on the new towns movement. Sollershott Circus is recognised as the first roundabout on a public road in the UK. The town is within the council area of North Hertfordshire (Hertfordshire).
