Lesseness Heath, Kent
Lessness Heath is an urban area in Belvedere, Kent. The name Lessness Heath once referred to a wide swathe of marshy land between Erith and Woolwich, including the site of Lesnes Abbey. By the late 19th century, the heathland had gradually been brought into cultivation and its ownership divided. The Lessness Heath name had become restricted to a much smaller area, south-west of the mansion called Belvedere, around which the village of Belverdere developed. This more restricted use of the name is reflected in Lessness Heath Primary School in Belvedere. The area is within the council area of Bexley.
