Leigh Miz Maze, Dorset
Leigh Miz Maze is the earthwork remains of a mizmaze (turf maze) situated on Leigh Common, Dorset. The remains comprise a hexangonal earth bank which surrounded a circular labyrinth in the middle of a field. It may date from the 13th or 14th century when turf mazes were popular in England. The maze is depicted on an Elizabethan map dated between 1569 and 1574. The monument is within the council area of Dorset.
