Lea Village, Worcestershire
Lea Village (formerly just Lea) is a former village that is now an urban area in the east of Birmingham, part of the Yardley salient of Worcestershire. The mediæval village of Lea stretched from the road now called Lea Village down to the junction of Gressell Lane and Lea Ford Road where the River Cole was crossed to Shard End. The area was developed for housing from the 1930s. The term Lea Village now usually refers to the area north of Lea Hall station, the former village centre. It is within the council area of Birmingham.
