Lavatris Roman Fort, Yorkshire

Lavatris Roman Fort (aka Lavatrae Roman Fort) is the site of a Roman fort adjacent to the modern day village of Bowes in Yorkshire, in the North Riding. The mediæval Bowes Castle was built within the perimeter of the fort. It is within the council area of County Durham.
