MenuLaunditch, Norfolk
The Launditch is an ancient linear earthwork near Mileham, Norfolk. The ditch runs for about three miles forming a parish boundary for much of its length. The most visible remains of the ditch lie to the west of Bell Hall. Elsewhere the ditch resembles a normal field boundary. In the mid 20th century it was suggested that the Launditch is Early or Middle Saxon in date. Recent excavations have opened up the possibility that it could date to the Iron Age. The monument is within the council area of Breckland (Norfolk).
