Langley Priory, Leicestershire

Langley Priory is a former Benedictine nunnery and later country house near Isley Walton, Leicestershire. Langley Priory was founded c.1150 by William Pantulf and his wife Burgia. It was probably dissolved with the other small monasteries in 1536. Langley Priory house dates from the late 16th century and probably incorporated some of the remains of he priory. The house has seen several substantial alterations. The site is within the council area of North West Leicestershire (Leicestershire).
