Lancaster Cathedral, Lancashire

Lancaster Cathedral (formally the Cathedral Church of St Peter) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Lancaster, Lancashire. It is the seat of the Bishop of Lancaster. It was designed in the Gothic Revival style by E.G. Paley and constructed in 1857-59. In 1901 a baptistry was added by Austin and Paley. It was elevated to cathedral status in 1924. The cathedral is within the council area of Lancaster (Lancashire).
