Lanark, Lanarkshire

Lanark is a small town and royal burgh in Lanarkshire, of which it is the county town. It stands above the River Clyde in Clydesdale, a steep bank dropping down to the river. The Lanark Lanimer celebrations take place each year for one week in June, drawn deep from the town's historic traditions. The town is within the council area of South Lanarkshire.
