Laira is a former hamlet (Laira Green) that is now an urban area in the east of Plymouth, Devon. The area stands on the west bank of the Laira, that is that part of the estuary of the River Plym from the Cattewater up to Marsh Mills. The area largely surrounds the Laira Traction Maintenance Depot, much of the housing having been built around 1900 for employees of the depot. It is within the council area of Plymouth.
